The Royal family‘s popularity declined in the wake of accusations and criticism by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex between December and January. However, it has since bounced back, a new survey from YouGov suggests.
The poll, conducted between March 18 and 20, asked 1,983 adults in Britain what they thought of each member of the royal family, with available answers ranging from “very positive” to “very negative” and “don’t know”.
prince williamWho is currently visiting Polandtopped the list, with 72 percent of respondents saying they had a “very” or “fairly” positive view of him, against 18 saying they viewed him negatively.
A similar poll was conducted between January 10 and 11, amid the release of Prince Harry‘s blistering memoir Spare, saw prince william collecting a lower approval score, 70 percent, and a higher negative score, 21 percent.
His wife Kate followed by, collecting 70 percent of the positive answers against 15 percent of the negative ones.
Like William, the Princess of Wales performed better than in January, when she received 68 percent positive answers against 18 percent negative ones.
The princess’s approval rating was similar to Princess Anne‘s, which saw 70 percent of respondents say they have a positive opinion of her against 13 percent who said they don’t see her in a positive light.
The Princess Royal has lost some popularity since January, when 72 percent of those surveyed said they had a positive opinion of her.
However, in recent months, the percentage of people who had a negative image of her remained unchanged, with more people than before answering “don’t know” – an increase from 15 percent to 17 percent.

The positive answers for the frost have grown by 1 percent since January, while the negative ones have decreased by three percent.
Prince Edward, who was created Duke of Edinburgh by King Charles earlier this month also fared better than in January, with 58 percent of positive answers (4 percent more than earlier this year) against 21 percent of negative answers (down two percent).
Queen Camilla also outperformed when comparing the latest poll to the one from January, then Prince HarryThe accusations against her – including that she was willing to exchange information with the press to improve her image in the early 2000s – had just been launched.
Three months ago, 46 percent of respondents said they had a positive opinion of her, while in the recent survey 48 percent gave a similar answer. The total number of negative answers when it comes to the Queen Consort fell from 40 percent to 37 percent in recent months.
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, remain the least loved members of the royal family, with the exception of Prince Andrewwho got 7 percent of positive answers in the recent poll, just as he did in January, the poll suggested.
As in January, Meghan saw 22 percent of respondents say they have a positive view of her, but the percentage of negative responses dropped from 68 to 65 percent over the months.
Harry, on the other hand, saw his popularity among Brits increase slightly from 24 percent to 25 percent, with the percentage of people saying a negative opinion of him falling from 68 to 64 percent.
Overall, the royal family has increased in popularity by one percent in recent months, the poll suggested, and saw the proportion of people who said they had a negative opinion of it jump from 34 to 30 percent.
The institution of the monarchy in general also fared better than in January, with positive responses dropping from 54 to 58 percent, while negative responses fell from 37 to 32 percent.
