A new station will open on the Elizabeth Line next month, Transport for London (TfL) has announced.

The delayed opening of the Bond Street station is now expected on Monday, Oct. 24, the capital’s tour guides said.

Officials labeled the station as ‘the jewel in the crown’ of West End transport, but admitted the opening is ‘subject to final approvals’.

The Elizabeth line opened in May, but trains have not entered Bond Street due to delays in completing the station.

The move is expected to ease congestion at nearby Oxford Circus, while making the station more accessible for disabled travelers.

London Transport Commissioner Andy Byford said: ‘The new Elizabeth line station in Bond Street will be the jewel in the crown of the West End’s transport facility.

“It is truly spectacular and will form a very important new link to one of the busiest shopping streets in the UK, bringing even greater connectivity to jobs and leisure for people across London and the South East.

The last Elizabeth line station has entrances at Hanover Square and Davies Street.
