Manchester United told players it ‘don’t care’ and Erik ten Hag ‘makes mistakes’ in Brentford ‘destruction’

That’s according to Jamie Redknapp who, on Sky Sports, was in disbelief as Brentford scored four goals in the first half to stun United and all who watched.

Goals from Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo left Redknapp and co-commentator Gary Neville almost lost for words.

After the fourth goal, Neville said: “What a first half of football we see here, the destruction of Manchester United.”

“What do you do at halftime when you’re Erik ten Hag? What on earth can you say to those 11 players who were there in the first half? What can you say?

“I think you should just send them one more time, that would be it. I’m not sure what else he can do.’

Redknapp was equally scathing, going on to say: “I can’t believe what I’m seeing from this Manchester United team. It’s like they’re a team with a Manchester United badge on, but they’re just getting kicked out.

“They don’t look like they show any responsibility or concern. I think the manager makes mistakes.

“Christian Eriksen is not a defensive midfielder in any life and he plays him in that role today, so he has to accept that. (Lisandro) Martinez, not strong enough as a central defender, is bullied.”
