Modern Warfare 2 beta ‘worst ever’ fans say – despite record breaking

Infinity Ward thanks fans for the feedback after the Modern Warfare 2 beta, while Activity celebrates the breaking of a certain milestone.

Activision must be very pleased with how Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out. The series’ player base has decreased last yearbut it sounds like Modern Warfare 2 is winning people back.

The second beta weekend ended recently, and according to Activision itself, it had the most players, most hours played, and most matches played across all available platforms than any previous Call Of Duty beta.

This makes it the largest beta in the entire Call Of Duty series and means it will easily avoid a repeat Call Of Duty: Vanguard’s Underperformance.

Developer Infinity Ward shared a thank you message with players, explaining how it will use the beta’s feedback to make improvements in time for the game’s launch.

For example, the view of the enemy, which apparently… a recurring problem during both beta weekends, will be adjusted to make it easier for players to track their opponents without relying solely on name tags.

“As we move toward launch, we’re going to make some adjustments based on lessons learned from the beta,” says Infinite Department.

“One of the most important parts of the beta is that you, the players, find new bugs and issues for us. We’re grateful to the community for coming together to help us refine this game – and we can’t wait to show you more.”

While Activision and Infinity Ward try to encourage a positive outlook, some of the player base thinks otherwise.

A quick look at some Twitter reactions shows players calling Modern Warfare 2’s beta the worst yet, accusing Activision and Infinity Ward of ignoring the feedback they claim to be listening to.

Others point out that Activision hasn’t shared any hard numbers, arguing that high player counts are solely due to name recognition and the reuse of the title from the 2009 Modern Warfare 2, which remains one of the best-loved entries in the series. is.

Between all complaints, however, there are occasional defenders; people who admit to having fun with the game and wonder why the most ardent complainers are even invested in the series at this point.

As some talk about the game, you would think that Modern Warfare 2 was already doomed to crash and burn as soon as it launched, but that seems highly unlikely.

The new Modern Warfare 2 is intended as an attempt by Activision to revive the series after Vanguard’s underperformance.

While the most likely outcome is that it will be a huge success, these early reactions indicate it’s no less polarizing than any other Call Of Duty game in recent memory.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launches on October 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
