Northeast India will be fully connected to 4G networks: report

4G

The central government wants the nation to become a tech-savvy and digital revolution for the world to see. 4G has increased the number of internet users in the country. Northeast India, which is a crucial part of the nation, will be fully connected to 4G networks, said Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. This means that every part of Nagaland will have access to the internet. According to a PTI report, the Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar announced this during a press conference in Dimapur on Tuesday. It was the third and last day of the minister’s visit to Nagaland.

BSNL and private companies play an important role

Chandrasekhar said that BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) and the private telcos will play an important role in bringing 4G networks to Nagaland. The government will ensure a minimum of 4G connectivity is in place in Nagaland as part of the Prime Minister’s vision to connect all Indians.

This is a great opportunity for a company like BSNL trying to roll out 4G networks. The state-run telco may be able to get customers on board in Nagaland if it can roll out 4G networks in the region as soon as possible. BSNL is currently trying to purchase equipment for the 4G networks. The government will give 900MHz and 1800MHz spectrum to the telco for 4G.

Moreover, Chandrasekhar asked the district officials of Dimapur to design skills efforts for different districts based on the things young people of a particular district want to do. For the ignorant, Chandrasekhar is also the Union’s Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Skills Development.

4G connectivity in all parts of Nagaland would certainly contribute to the economy as many new entrepreneurs and businesses will take advantage of the opportunities presented by the digital world today.
