A ‘crazy’ driving instructor turned stalker was jailed after driving more than 200 miles to injure himself outside his victim’s home.

Graham Mansie, 53, became obsessed with 19-year-old Maisie Relph when she was his student at age 17. A court heard how he TikTok accountable to the young girl and ‘scare’ her during a lengthy campaign last year.

He was convicted of stalking in May but avoided prison with a suspended sentence and a restraining order.

But Mansie broke this restraining order in just nine days, driving from the south London to Maisie’s University in York on May 27.

Maisie’s roommate saw Mansie sitting under a tree around 11:20 p.m. and called the police, who found him sobbing and self-harming, inflicting superficial cuts.

Mansie, from Beckenham, Kent, was sentenced this week to 20 months in prison and given an indefinite restraining order at York Crown Court.

Maisie told the court how the whole ordeal has impacted her life, making it difficult for her to continue taking driving lessons and get her driver’s license.

She also said the stress of being stalked has led to her being diagnosed with severe anorexia.

The psychology student read her victim statement to the court: ‘I think about what happened every day, constantly worried and paranoid about what might happen.

“I thought it couldn’t get any worse after the previous incidents. But if Mr. Mansie breaks a rule of law nine days after sentencing, I wonder if this will ever end.”

“I am now a 19-year-old battling a serious mental illness and living with a 53-year-old stalker while trying to graduate.

“Hopefully he (Mansie) learns his lesson now. I think I can now get my life back on track and enjoy university.’

Detective Michelle Neighbor said, “It’s a terrifying experience to have someone who has been ordered by the court to stay away from you brutally breaks that warrant within days and chases you across the country.

“Maisie has been incredibly brave during this investigation and has remained committed over the past three months to working with us to ensure justice is served.

“She was determined to stand in court today to read her victim’s personal statement so she could talk about the devastating impact this experience had on her life.”
