Olivia Wilde Admits It Was ‘Tricky’ To ‘Reshape’ Her Family After Her Breakup With Jason put it on.
The exes – who have children Otis, eight, and Daisy, five – began dating in 2011 before splitting up in late 2020, while their family life came under the spotlight earlier this year when she got custody papers onstage at CinemaCon, in the middle of a presentation for Don’t Worry Darling.
Appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week, Olivia admitted it can be “difficult” being a single mom, adding, “Reshaping a family is tough.”
However, she noted that there is “one advantage,” which all comes down to communication with her children, which she described as her and Jason’s “priority.”
She said, ‘It’s allowed for some really deep conversations with my kids about emotions and about happiness and about what family means and love.
“I actually got to know them in a different way… My priority is with them. That’s what it is. It’s as long as they’re happy and then they’re healthy, my ex and I, we agree. They are everything to us.’
Olivia admitted that their situation is difficult because they sort things out in the public eye.
She explained: “There are so many families that are mixed and different shapes. It’s doable. If you can surround them with that much love, then it’s good. But you know, it’s hard because we don’t do it privately.’
It comes after Olivia has to… defend her relationship with co-star Harrydamning claims she left ex-fiancé Jason to pursue the romance.
It was reported that Olivia and the Ted Lasso star were going their separate ways at the end of 2020, after nine years together, just two months before she was first paired up with the Watermelon Sugar singer.
She discussed rumors that the relationships “overlapped” with Vanity Fair, describing the claims as “complete horse s**t” and “completely inaccurate.”
“Our relationship was over long before I met Harry,” she continued.
