ACTOR Sarah Jayne Dunn has urged the NHS to be more honest with expectant mothers about the physical risks of childbirth.
The former hollyoaks star, 40, said it took her more than a year to recover after a difficult delivery left her in a lot of pain.
Dunn said her sex life and self-confidence had taken a huge knock.
The celeb – who was pulled from the soap last year for sharing raunchy snaps on Only Fans – said she was “shocked” that mothers are being sent home with only vague advice.
She talked about her struggle after son Stanley’s on the Mother Bodies podcast today birth in 2016.
She said, “I didn’t feel like there was anyone I could really reach other than going to the GP.”
Stanley got stuck during labor and she had emergency surgery after a separate problem with her placenta.
Pain from the resulting scars caused problems.
Four out of five new moms have stitches for a tear or surgical cut.
Dunn said the NHS must give women full facts and wish she had been better “prepared”.
She visited her repeatedly family doctor but her problems were solved only by strength training.
