Steve Barclay confronted outside the hospital in the middle of an interview

An angry member of the public confronted Health Minister Steve Barclay in the street on Thursday, demanding to know why the government has done “nothing” about the long wait for ambulances.

The minister spoke to media outside Moorfields Eye Hospital in Old Street, central London, when a woman interrupted him to emphasize how “people have died” while waiting for emergency services.

A woman passing by asked him, “Are you going to do something about the waiting ambulances and the extinction of people?”

Mr Barclay replied: “Of course we are”, but the woman continued: “Don’t you think 12 years is long enough?

“Twelve years – you’ve done everything you can.

“People have died, and all you’ve done is nothing.”
