The 20-year-old man was found this morning near the beach of Can Picafort, a seaside resort in the northeast.
A local resident raised the alarm after it floated in the sea near the Mar y Paz Hotel.

The Guardia Civil, police and medical teams rushed to the scene this morning, but were unable to save the man.
He was quickly transferred to the mainland while cardiopulmonary resuscitation continued, but did not respond to medical intervention. The mirror reported.
An investigation into his cause of death has been opened by the Guardia Civil.
