Rail passengers will face more transport woes in London tonight after services from Paddington were suspended.

Great Western Railway (GWR) said all lines between the west London station and Slough, Berkshire, are blocked.

The serious outage was caused for the second time in a week by damage to overhead electricity wires.

Photos show huge lines of people in the departure hall.

Trains from Reading and Heathrow Airport have been affected, and services from GWR, Heathrow Express and the Elizabeth line have been affected.

The outage is expected to last until the end of the day, previously reported delays of about an hour.

Passengers with tickets for canceled or delayed services can use them on South Western Railway, Chiltern, Elizabeth Line or London Underground.

GWR tweeted: ‘Due to overhead wire damage between London Paddington and Slough, some lines to London Paddington have been blocked.

Train services to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 8 p.m. Ticket acceptance will take place with SWR, Chiltern, TfL on the Elizabeth Line and London Underground on any reasonable route until further notice.”

An outage was still reported after 8.30pm tonight.

National Rail Inquiries show that all services to and from Paddington have been ‘delayed’ or ‘cancelled’.

It stated: ‘Due to damage to the overhead lines between Ealing Broadway and Hayes & Harlington, the line has been interrupted to and from London Paddington.

“Trains running between these stations could be delayed or canceled up to 90 minutes.”

This is the second time in a week that trains have been suspended from Paddington, with Monday services affected by the same problem.
