Tuchel confirms Marcos Alonso’s situation

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Marcos has asked Alonso to be out of the squad for Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

The Spain international was not part of the 20-man roster who traveled to Merseyside with Barcelona to sign the left-back.

The Blues boss has not confirmed whether Alonso will leave during ongoing negotiations, but he revealed that the 31-year-old had asked not to play Frank Lampard.

More on De Jong

Chelsea have also been given the chance to sign De Jong, as well as Blaugrana forwards Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

But Laporta told TV3: “Frenkie de Jong is a high quality Barcelona player and we want him to stay. With him and his team-mates we have a very strong midfield. He has offers but we want him to stay and he also wants stay.”
