UK rain forecast: EIGHT DAYS of rain in Britain in August | Weather | News

The country’s open plains have been yearning for rain in recent weeks and many gardens and landscapes look brown and dull. And in Kent and Sussex, according to South East Water, a ban on garden hoses will be introduced within a week. This will prevent people from using water to wash cars, fill paddling pools and water gardens. Such restrictions are already being imposed in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight by Southern Water as of today.

Reservoirs are a bit shallower than they should be, with the intense July heat creating problems with running water for households across the country.

On July 19, thermometers registered a whopping 40.3C in parts of the country, an all-time high never before in this country.

The Met Office has also reported a dry spell for much of the UK, with only small areas of the north experiencing spontaneous showers.

But in his recent statement, the forecaster said conditions will become “changeable” after mid-August.

In the coming week, temperatures will again peak to 34°C by Wednesday 10 August.

Coming Sunday, August 14, the weather will start to turn – with more rain on the horizon from August 15.

According to weather model WX Charts, more rain clouds appear to cover the UK from August 15.

While more scattered showers will begin at the start of the new week, a period of heavy showers will begin on Thursday, August 18 – covering much of the south.

“Temperatures will be between moderate and warm for most, and probably warm or very warm in the south, where it can also get humid at times.

“Further in the period, the unstable conditions can sometimes spread further south and east, although the north and west will probably still see the most precipitation.”

Water companies have not explicitly said how long the garden hose ban will last in the four southern regions.
