The lucky cardholder has taken home a prize of £171,815,297.80.
The winning numbers from Friday’s draw were 14, 15, 22, 35 and 48. The Lucky Star numbers were 03 and 08.
Andy Carter of Camelot, senior advisor to winners at The National Lottery, said: “What a great night for a UK cardholder who won the massive £171 million EuroMillions jackpot.
“This winner has just become the third biggest National Lottery winner of all time and the sixth winner of the UK EuroMillions jackpot this year alone.
“Players are urged to check their tickets and call us if they think they are tonight’s lucky winner.”
The biggest ever EuroMillions win was £195 million from the 19th July draw and was claimed just a day later. The winner chose to remain anonymous.
In addition to this record win, the £109 million jackpot from the February 4 draw was also claimed a few days later, with the winner again remaining anonymous.
This was followed by Gloucestershire couple Joe and Jess Thwaite will celebrate their £184 million win with the draw on 10 May. One lucky British ticket holder, who also chose to remain anonymous, won the £54 million EuroMillions jackpot in the June 10 draw.
