UK weather: Britons face thunderstorm and heat wave With Office warnings | Weather | News

The Met Office’s yellow thunderstorm warning will affect much of Scotland and Northern Ireland later today. The warning suggests some areas could also experience “heavy downpours.”

By contrast, most of England and Wales will see no rain on Sunday.

The UK’s National Weather Service said: “More clouds and rain areas are expected to develop in parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland on Sunday.

“Some places are missing the worst, while others are likely to see heavy downpours and thunderstorms.

“This could cause up to about 50mm of rain in 2-3 hours, causing some disruption, although there will be some drier periods in between.
