Another fisherman’s story unfolds in a new gameplay trailer

Another Fisherman’s Tale received a new trailer today, showing off key gameplay mechanics on Quest, PC VR, and PSVR 2.

Announced last month by Innerspace and Vertigo Games, Another fishing story is a direct follow-up to that of 2019 A fisherman’s tale. Following a previous glimpse of the new VR mechanics, this latest gameplay trailer shows off how the detachable limb system works. Between trading your hand for a crab’s claw, stealing someone else’s hand for a biometric scanner, and using an old-fashioned pirate hook to grab, your own body becomes part of the puzzle. You can watch the trailer in its entirety below:

We love the original game in our A review of Fisherman’s Tale, calling it a “perfect storm of gameplay, immersion, and story.” We felt it ended too quickly at just 2 hours, though thankfully this forthcoming sequel promises a longer 5-6 hour campaign. In Another Fisherman’s Tale, which continues the story of Bob the Fisherman, you play as Nina, daughter of the original game’s protagonist who begins to investigate her father’s past. Here’s the official description:

Another Fisherman’s Tale continues the story of Bob de Visser, creating a magical and moving story about the meaning we create in life by building and rebuilding our authentic selves. Developed from the ground up to maximize the capabilities of modern VR technology, Another Fisherman’s Tale introduces an all-new core mechanic: this time, the player’s own body is the primary puzzle to solve, creating an unconventional gameplay based on on dismantling and rebuilding their in-game form.

Another Fisherman’s Tale is coming PSVR 2, Meta quest 2, MetaQuestPro and PC VR platforms this year.
