Auckland Transport has apologized for any “confusion” by suggesting punters drive to Elton John’s concert at Mt Smart stadium on Friday night due to the lack of public transport.

“Last night a post was published on our Facebook page suggesting people drive to Elton John’s concert given KiwiRail’s partial closure of the rail network,” said Auckland Transport interim chief executive Mark Lambert.

“We want to reassure Aucklanders that there is a full transport plan in place, offering a range of options,” he said.
