Demaj subtitled her video: “I wish I could give her a hug.”

She referred to herself when she was a child.

In the first half of her video, she showed clips of her modeling work and how she looked successful.

Towards the end of the video, she flashed back to a photo of her younger self before modeling.

I'm medium size & pulled on a Revolve dress - people said my body looked unreal
I'm ashamed of my big chest - people classify all my outfits as 'sexual'

She wrote about part of the video, “So the kids at school were wrong about me being ugly?”

One person commented: “You are and were so F**ing beautyfull omg.”

Demaj posted another video of herself as an adult and shared her more recent experience with body shaming.

Demaj poses in a side view in her video to show off her slim figure.

She added a quote she often hears from people: “You can’t shame your body because skinny is the new standard of beauty.”

She captioned the clip, “Because that makes sense apparently.”

While many commentators shared their support for the model, others shared their views on new trends.

“Bbl is the new beauty standard,” commented one person.

The term “bbl” is an acronym for a surgery called a Brazilian buttock lift.

There were other mixed feelings about Demaj’s video.

“People are really trying to find ways to be oppressed,” said one TikTok user.

“No matter what body type a girl has, it will never be good enough. We need to stop invalidating the insecurities of others,” wrote another follower.

Another commenter said, “no matter what the standard, shaming is shaming.”

The video about body shaming received more than 2,700 comments.
