Putin could start a ‘World War III’ if UK does not act in Ukraine, QT panel warns | World | News

could end in a full-blown Third World War with the West if the UK does not take action Ukraineaccording to a panellist on the BBC on Thursday evening. The BBC’s premier political debate program came to Scunthorpe, with host Fiona Bruce joined by Tory MP Jake Berry, Labor Mayor for West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin, Daily Mirror editor Alison Phillips and political satirist Konstantin Kisin.

Mr Berry, the MP for Rossendale and Darwen, said it was imperative for the UK to do what it could, adding that if the country had “stood firmer” against Moscow in Crimea the war might not have happened .

He said: “I just look back a little bit and think: if we had opposed this firm against Putin when he rolled into Crimea seven years ago, would we have this conflict now?

“I suspect we wouldn’t.

“He is a vicious bully who is waging an illegal war on the soil of Europe, we cannot let that happen and we must stand firm with the people of Ukraine.

“As Britons, we should be proud to have been one of the main supporters of our allies Ukraine from the beginning of this conflict.”

The UK, US and now finally Germany have all agreed to supply tanks to Kiev, with the option of fighter jets next.

President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his gratitude for the decision, telling Sky News: “I would like to thank Germany, Britain and the United States for making this decision.

“Overall, I’m very grateful to the world for supporting me Ukraine. But honestly, the number of tanks and the delivery time Ukraine is critical.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said of the plan to send tanks: “I am convinced that many specialists understand the absurdity of this idea.

“Just because of the technological aspects, this is a rather disastrous plan.

“Most importantly, this is a completely blatant overestimation of potential [the tanks] would add to the armed forces of Ukraine. It’s yet another misconception, a pretty deep one.

“These tanks will burn down like all the others… Only they cost a lot, and this will fall on the shoulders of European taxpayers.”
