Footage taken at the Spring Hotel Bitacora, Playa de las Américas, shows waves of tourists — including Britons — racing at the crack of dawn to gain a privileged position to spend their holidays. Canary Island vacation.

The determined tourists, running with towels, sunscreen and swimsuits under their arms, can be seen in action in a clip shared on TikTok.

Some travelers, including from the UK, reportedly waited 90 minutes in the morning before the four-star hotel staff allowed them to the disputed sun loungers.

Chloe Turner, who filmed the footage, said: “Another day, another ‘sunbed war’ as rival groups advanced from all sides to claim their place.”

Some wrote on the social media platform calling the behavior “sad” and “embarrassing”.

One user said: “Sad. They take all their hostility and tension with them on vacation.”

Another wrote: “bunch of idiots.”

One user seemed to understand the tourists and suggested that their behavior was the result of hotels not having enough sunbeds.

They said, “Sometimes you have to get a lounger.”
